Steve is a professional whose career has encompassed every aspect of
the garment business. He started as a swimwear designer and
product development specialist with Cole of California. At age
27, he became Head of Design and New Product Development for
Darlene Knitwear, which led the evolution from knitwear to nylon
swimwear. Steve was first US designer to use Dupont's Fiber “K”
(later known as Lycra® spandex) in a swimwear application.
In 1967, Steve saw the to opportunity to offer his talents
through his own company, and Estephanian Originals opened its
doors. Steve has remained the Company’s guiding force for more
than three decades. His vast knowledge and experience keeps
Estephanian Originals at the forefront of a rapidly changing
industry.
Steve was an expert in finished garment printing for swimwear
and sweaters. The owner of numerous patents, Steve thinks
outside the box to find imaginative solutions for today’s
product development challenges. His creative thinking has had
enormous repercussions, reflected in the many innovations that
are now standards of the industry.
Steve passed away on June 3rd 2009 at the age of 79. He will missed by
all who he touched.
